We asked Nell B. to tell us a little about her project: Where did the title Unknown Artist come from? "I've been doing music most of my life but it took a while for me to really find myself apart. It was truly back and fourth thing over the years just examining my identity as a woman and as a musical artist. I always thought I wasn't a good enough singer. It took a really long time to come to a place where I felt like I could share my music with people. Because my music is very very personal to me. Its like my diary. So really, Unknown Artist is me graduating to that complete moment when I realized and began actualizing the artist within that was really there all along." What is your music about on this project? "I'm really just expressing myself. I think "I Don't Know" and "Far Away" capture the theme of this project the best. Just the intricacies of uncertainty in success and in love...and I guess success in love! I get tired of hearing these 'down a** chick songs' but its such an honest emotion. A feeling of being so devoted to a person. So, "Passion" and "Down" kind of explore those feelings. These songs are a very different side of me. A side I don't think my closest friends have ever even met. Hows that for a little mystery?" Nell B. and her longstanding fans and supporters have high hopes for her first EP scheduled to release late 2014. It will showcase her colorful thoughts about loyalty, love and life dreams against the backdrop of her favorite genres.​​
