"So what is the Café for Lost Souls?" In short it is that place we all go to in the early hours of the morning when we just can't sleep. The fantasy of the music around the 4am alarm in the track is all down to you. The composer does suggest that the track concludes at sunrise though. The creation of this album over an eight year period has coincided with Stuart Leathem becoming a proven composer in many styles. On this record, for the first time you can hear some of his songs from the 'Electric Clouds' project. His love of all things MOOG comes to the fore on 'Modular' and 'Don't Touch My Moog'. Listen also for references to Stuart's great hero Wendy Carlos in the epic 'When the Last House Falls Into the Sea', a piece especially written for Stuart's landmark invitational gig at Oxford University, England. The greatest DJ and writer of radio jingles Kenny Everett also gets his voice onto the record, another homage to talent from Stuart. Whereas previous releases from Stuart have been diagnosed as medicine to be taken in one gulp, this album is somewhat different. You can pick and choose the elements you like, or indeed journey the whole way through, hopefully feeling better on the other side. Stuart's research and writing for multi-speaker arrays will bring this music to festivals and events in a place near you within the next year, so keep your eyes and ears open for such things!
