简介
QUEEN GUTTAH BIO Reigning from the city of Washington, D.C., QUEEN GUTTAH was raised in 3 different sections of the city during her early childhood. Her family lived in the S.E. section when she was born but moved shortly after. She spent her adolescent years growing up in the N.E. section of the city in a neighborhood called "Paradise". She also spent part of those years growing up with family and friends in the N.W. section of the city in a neighborhood called "Columbia Heights Villiage" due to a broken home situation. She attended Eastern Sr. High School for a short time until dropping out of school at age 15. After a stretch of living her troubled life in the streets, and as a result, becoming a teenage mother, she was determined to turn her life around and become a better role model for her child. She got her GED, attended P.G. Community College in Largo, MD and studied music theory, something she had always been interested in. Listening to music and writing poems and short stories was always a hobby she loved doing from when she was a little girl. When she got punished, she would just write poems and sing songs to pass time. Once she got focused on living right, she put her poetic/writng skills into effect. She began writing rap lyrics and developed her flow and delivery. Some of her biggest influences are Lil Kim, Eminem, Jay-Z, Foxy Brown, and Tupac. However, her style is unique from her personality to her flow. She thrives on originality, and her music is a true depiction of who she is and what she's been through. Having lived both a troubled and priviledged life (to some degree) thus far, she tells stories through her rhymes of both the good and bad times of her life. Songs such as "If U Could See" and "Duty Calls" are very personal and serve as a form of her testimony. With a new view on life, a new vision, and a plan of action, she decided to market her musical talent. Beginning with only a dream and an unofficial manager, (someone who was aspiring to be a music producer) at that time, she headed off to Brooklyn, NY (Bedford-Stuyvesant) to better the chances of her talent being recognized and to complete her project. She performed at open mics at night to hone her craft while working as a hairstylist during the day. After meeting lots of music industry contacts, the pace began to pick up. She then moved to Flatbush, and was recording in studios all around Brooklyn and in Jamaica, Queens alongside Wayne Marshall, an UK artist who featured her on his single "Bad Boy". After a couple of years of networking, and frustrated because she hadn't completed her own project, (just features on other artists projects), she returned home with a new plan of action. Upon returning home, she found out her mom was fighting a battle with breast cancer. This was a very hard time for her and she chose to shut down the music dream and focus on her mother's ailing health. Unfortunately, her mom lost her battle to breast cancer. May she forever R.I.P. However, losing her mom only made her more determined and more driven to succeed. This time, even more focused, she decided to take the independent approach and administer all of her affairs herself. Everything from writing songs to manufacturing her finished product, from social networking to passing out flyers and everything in between, she does it all. QUEEN GUTTAH is used to carrying a heavy load so the titles: manager, songwriter, artist, pr rep, CEO, producer, music editor, webmaster and accountant, (just to name a few of the jobs she handles), doesn't bother her at all. She's always been a very hard worker and believes in the phrase "NO GRIND, NO SHINE". Her New CD "Haterz Luv Me" is destined to make QUEEN GUTTAH a household name. Her current project an appearance on the soon to be released single “The Exception” from the Hip Hop 4 the Homeless Project along with follow up single “Game Face” will soon put QUEEN GUTTAH front and center in the Hip Hop game.
