The inspiration behind this song came to me as I was sitting at my office desk, while working my on-campus job at the library. My mind had become filled with stress from the day, but while all these chaotic things were stirring about my brainwaves the questions "What is the love of Christ? What does it mean to love?" whispered in the background. The intro to this song represents the thoughts of my mind in that moment. After a period of allowing the stress to consume my mind, God broke through the chaos and began showing me examples of His love, personal examples from my life over the years. While dwelling on these examples and realizing the vastness of His love I became...well...simply overwhelmed. I had to catch my breath for a minute, put down my pencil, close my eyes and take it in. All of the white noise in the intro has very personal symbolic meaning in relation to my life. If you listen carefully, you can hear the tuning of strings (symbolizing the daily orchestra rehearsals I enjoy/endure), Hanson's Symphony No. 2 (the piece our orchestra was rehearsing at the time of the "overwhelming" incident at work), and a ringing "A" (symbolizing the permanent ring in my ear I have from playing the violin). God recently healed me of that, praise the Lord! My intention is that when you listen to this song you will take the time to really listen to the different instruments and lyrics, so that you can be blessed to the FULL extent and if all goes according to calling, OVERWHELMED by His love.
