From the irresistible pop groove of 'Kids In Red Wagons' (sure to be this summer's anthem) to the ominous pizzicato throbbing of 'Play The Saint,' Emily Hurd shows the world what she’s made of: chasms of emotion with seemingly endless voices of expressing it. Backed by a haunting string quartet, 'Heaven This Way' gives a playful and imaginative arrangement to the singer’s lyrical profundity, while 'Cold Blood' directly reflects the fire in the heart of its creator. The stripped down version of 'Cover Blown' gives potency to her striking message, which can only be compared to John Lennon’s 'Imagine.' Hurd is supported by Aaron Biby on drums, Jordan McDonald on bass, Cathy Kuna on cello, Timothy Olson on violin 1, Kimberly Milligan on violin 2, and Marla Caballero on viola. The album was produced by John Abbey at New Soup Recording in Chicago, Illinois. 'Daytime Fireflies" embodies the sound coming out of Chicago right now.
