Most of us can only dream about living in an island paradise or becoming a rock star. For the members of EMKE, that’s just everyday life. The product of a real life 'School of Rock' in Hawaii (Hawaii MusicWorks), EMKE burst onto the Honolulu pop music scene in 2005. In a very short time, EMKE has found themselves graduating from intimate local club gigs, to playing before huge concert crowds including recent slots opening for BILLY RAY CYRUS, the legendary rock band KANSAS and NEAL SCHON of JOURNEY.

When asked to categorize their “sound”, EMKE is quick to respond, “....an addictive combination of “alternative pop” and “classic rock”. The band’s debut EP is a mixture of upbeat melodic tunes (Promises and Expectations) and introspective ballads (Open Eyes) that unmistakably pay homage to classic rock's royalty (JOURNEY, HEART, DEf LEPPARD), while sharing notable similarities to current mainstreamers like ORIANTHI, LESLEY ROY AND GO RADIO.
