Gregorio, Swell, Karayorgis: Window and Doorway Driff Records CD1301 Guillermo Gregorio - clarinet Steve Swell - trombone Pandelis Karayorgis - piano This 2011 recording brings together trombonist Steve Swell, clarinetist Guillermo Gregorio and pianist Pandelis Karayorgis. Each contributes original compositions interspersed with a few collective improvisations. It is an intimate and intense set that takes advantage of the unusual instrumentation and diversity of compositional approaches. Boston Globe’s Kevin Lowenthal calls this trio “Three of today’s most creative and adventurous musicians.” The recording was made at Firehouse 12 in New Haven following concerts in Boston and New York.
