North Queensland, singer songwriter, Shirley Lynn known also as “Shirl” shares the fruit of her creative journey through songs intent on exploring mindful authenticities through her love of music and songwriting. Shirl’s original melodies and heartfelt lyrics are connecting and meaningful. Her songs explore a love for life, home in North Queensland and “what is”. Sea Turtle Quest was written for the opening of the Fitzroy Island Sea Turtle Rehabilitation Centre near Cairns, North Queensland where rescued sea turtles are hospitalised and cared for before returning them back to the ocean to fend for themselves again. Following the recording of her EP, "It's About Time" at the end of 2012, Shirl has since forged ahead to release an award winning single, "My Kind of Paradise." A song awarded 2013 Song of Carnivale as well as receiving Regional Arts Development funding for the creation of an official video for the song now available on you tube. Shirl has also released an EP called "Liberty" with her duo called "Silktones." A prolific songwriter, Shirl is recording further songs including an album within the band, “Blue Tonic” which will feature the multiple songwriters in the band.
