The Eric Tyus sound is heavily rooted in the Smooth Jazz idiom with elements from R&B, Funk, and Gospel. A native of Spartanburg, SC, Eric has been a professional guitarist and flutist for over 20 years. A performer, mentor, and educator, Eric's career is supported by his lovely family and friends. Eric's passion for performing is a result of a lifetime of musical influences. From watching his mother play the piano at church on Sunday mornings, to listening to Classical Jazz with his father on the weekends, Eric was always surrounded by different forms of music. Growing up in a home filled with music, it wasn't long before Eric picked up his first guitar and began developing his own sound. "Everything's Gonna Be Alright", is dedicated to Eric's late wife Barbara who passed away from Dementia. Eric and his daughter are dedicated to the cause of helping educate people about Alzheimer's and Dementia and finding a cure for this debilitating desease.
