简介
“Worship is not defined by music or style, it’s demonstrated by the condition of our heart; we live it out”. – Marthe De La Torre Worship leader and songwriter Marthe De La Torre puts a unique spin on Contemporary Christian Music, by allowing her soulful and edgy undertones merge with more traditional hymnal standards. The song “Only You Are Holy” is raw and edgy while simultaneously portraying an honest and fervent form of worship that truly engages the listener. The driving melodies and exceptional production, coupled with Marthe’s sincerity communicate and encourage a passionate and purposeful worship of God. Last fall Marthe joined forces with Lamontt ‘SPEC’ Blackshire of Clear Sight Music and Spechouse Media, to help produce her first album “Preludes”. “Only You Are Holy” is the first single off the album, and SPEC definitively brings his urban flair and punch to the song. The combination of their different musical sensibilities truly creates a unique worship experience that has caught the attention of both the worship and urban genres. In 2006, a pure love for music brought a young girl 5300 miles, from Oslo, Norway, to Los Angeles, CA to study music at the Musicians Institute Hollywood. Here, Marthe was nurtured and encouraged by many great talents from the world of music. Marthe’s love for God and understanding of His grace on her life, lay at the crux of her message, with her music being the voice that shares it. Upon graduation, she embarked on a mission to fulfill her passion, and to make much of Jesus through her gift. Personal discoveries as well as spiritual development have been pivotal for Marthe as core directions in her writing. For example, “Only You Are Holy” is a momentary reflection on God sovereignty, His majesty, and how all creation worships Him. “When I sit down at the piano, and I am able to sing and pour myself out to God, it’s as if time stands still; nothing else matters, and this is where I feel the absolute closest to Him. I am able to communicate directly from my heart to His, in my words; no pretense, no expectations, just sincere, honest worship and prayer. From these moments my music is shaped” says Marthe.
