An accomplished multi-instrumentalist and singer, James began composing music at an early age on piano and then guitar. After earning a degree in music composition and voice, James performed in clubs, churches and concert venues in the San Francisco Bay Area. His arranging and performing skills soon found an outlet as bassist, keyboardist and arranger for several East Bay & Los Angeles artists and as part of opening acts for The David Bromberg Band and Tower of Power. During a three year stint working for Warner Bros. Music in Los Angeles, CA, James polished his songwriting skills and performed his original songs at clubs throughout L.A. including Donte's,The Improv, the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, and the Playboy Club. Wanting to write and perform music that expressed the power of spirit, James quit the music business and performing for several years to pursue a master's degree in transpersonal counseling. For the last 14 years he has focused on inspiring and uplifting others through writing, recording and performing inspirational music. A dynamic performer, James is a popular guest for musical engagements at meetings, conferences, expositions and new-thought church services. He has appeared as guest musician at Unity Church & Church of Religious Science services in Northern California, Oregon and Washington.
