简介
From the first song of this second solo effort, the listener is caught off guard. Many reactions of the fans have proven that the first track in particular is bold. Very Bold. The mood is quickly shifted by the second track, which proves that the first one serves only to wrong-foot the listener. By the third or fourth cut, the mood is shifted again and the album settles into slightly more familiar territory. This time, with a tighter groove oriented sensibility. After a little prison blues and some swamp funk, the artist, changes gears. "4th of July" is a quiet, medium-tempo ballad. However, it is not a ballad in the obvious ways. This song sees the artist exploring some deeper human social issues that were largely ignored on the first album. "Revolution" finished up ,curiously, with a reprise from the first album. "Toys (Revisited)" is a great, up-tempo funky rocker that ends the album on an excellent note. Fans and casual listeners alike, will not be disappointed by this follow-up. It is an excellent reminder why this could never happen with "Major-Label" whatnot behind it.
