Pedro Amaral - Naive Imperfection Naive Imperfection , It is Pedro Amaral first record. Through the twelve tracks on the disc, pedro portrays on the ingenuity to produce music without worrying about the criticism, the music scene or biased opinions. How much music was more enjoyable when you not bother to do it to other people Or instead of sitting and doing something purely yours, you followed endless references on how to make music that everyone already doing it by a simple chance of recognition In Naive imperfection Pedro attempts to pass a simple conceptual idea portrayed through the album: "Limiting us with so many rules, formulas of success, forgetting why we do music in the first place. " To Achieve the goal of bringing a new perspective , Pedro wanted to search for sounds that people are not used to hear. In that journey some exotic instruments come to mind , but of course not everything its available . After meeting with his old friend Renato Leite , who automatically fall in love with the project and helped pedro get for two weeks an amazing "Boochla Model 265" used in some of the songs , as well Renato ended up co-producing some of the tracks. Other Instruments were used such as the "Arthuria Mini Brute" the "Moog Slim Phaty" and some Old Casio Keyboards. For the drums pedro recorded some of his own acoustic drums , such as cymbals , percussion , and ton-tons! The "Kong Drum Designer" by propellerhead software were used for the rest of the drums , all synthetic drums were synthesized in that baby. Continuing the journey of pursuing different sounds , the mixing process was all different as well. Pedro relays on his old buddy "Yamaha Vintage Two Channel Compressor" for all the bass sounds in the album , as far as hardware go, an "Oliver delay" and an "Alesis Reverb" was used to build the space , ambience and some effects on the tracks. After the "in the box" mixing process was completed , the tracks were divided in sub-groups and summed in a sixteen channel "Mackie console" . The mixed tracks were recorded back in the computer and sent to Oswaldo Coutinho who owns an amazing "Studer A827" , Oswaldo gently accepted to do the job of getting the tracks by that amazing unit . The final step was getting that stuff for mastering , that job was done by the amazing mastering engineer Mischa Van Luterpark on Germany. The whole process took almost eight months after the tracks were done . Pedro says that the process was not to claim he was able to use fancy high-end equipment to his music , but to achieve a different character, in his words , people are becoming sick of hearing songs processed by endless algorithms. "This equipments produces some nice imperfections to the sounds, even when this sounds were undesirable, i decided to keep them , because its the purest energy flowing trough my work , real energy, physical energy."
