This album finds award-winning song-writer/composer John Mackay dipping into the Celtic world, using a mixture of traditional and contemporary sounds. All of the music is original, except for the last two songs: "Dashing Away with the Smoothing Iron" (a traditional English folk song done up in a contemporary style) and "Red is the Rose", a traditional Irish folk song. All of the instruments are played by the composer.
