Liberty Records was founded in 1955, and began by releasing orchestral music and film scores but soon moved into pop as the teenage market attained momentum. This compilation focuses on 1962 and is a grab-bag of pre-British Invasion pop that more readily personifies the label's appeal. Half a century later, songs on this compilation like 'Papa Oom Mow Mow','Sally Let your Bangs Hang Down' and 'Kickapoo Joy Juice' still retain their innocent early-Sixties charm.
