Joe and the Reluctant Prophets is the solo work of Joseph Holt, front man for the band Acoustic Smoke. Some of Holt's work is recorded by himself then later recorded by Acoustic Smoke. The work tends toward the darker side of life, but remains thoughtful and sometimes introspective. There are often religious overtones and philosophical musings of the type you would commonly hear in Dark Country, or Southern Gothic.
