简介
a courtship of flutes was inspired by the tradition the flute played in courtship among Native Americans. This CD, then, is a love story of two lovers who met, fell in love, were together, had to part, went through a separation not of their own choosing, had tough times and eventually were reunited and lived happily ever after. In "all alone" our lovers have not yet met. By "you slip into my heart", one is starting to fall for the other. "star gazing" brings them together to watch the stars swirling around above them as their own emotions swirl inside their hearts. The hearts are racing in "how my heart beats for you". "go with me" pleads one. As one dances the other calls out teasingly, "dance lightly my love. The dancer stops and declares, "come for me now". There is a wedding and a song, "canyon deep is my love for you", is sung. A year of happiness passes and as they celebrate their anniversary one sings, "another year my love". But a separation is necessary and one must leave and its "time to go". In a beautiful duet they sing of their love for each other and then it is, "good bye". Once they are "apart" they sing separately, first one, then the other and back to the first one but then there is no answer. Of course there is a short soliloquy as one feels the pain in their heart in "longing for you". There is peace, perhaps, for awhile as crickets make their own music but in the distance a storm approaches in "through the trees". "Night Storm" comes with pouring rain and thunder. An anguished flute cries out. But as we read above there is a happy ending. At the end of the storm is a double rainbow. In "rainbows" our lovers are reunited.
