Formed in the beginning of 2013 by singer/songwriter Jimmy Marino, Auguster has already begun grasping the attention of listeners in the Boston area. Critics have called their songs "audacious and perfect", and their debut album A Change of Scene is being hailed as "a debut work to be proud of". Their music has been compared to a wide range of artists, from Ben Howard to Imagine Dragons, the Foo Fighters to Glen Hansard. The 7-piece band flawlessly combines passionate storytelling with relatable lyrics to create a personal experience for each member of the audience, and their integration of gritty vocals into polished pop-rock instrumentation serves to illustrate the emotional tension in the material. Utilizing such elements as crowd vocals and violin features, Auguster's unique sound is a memorable and powerful one.

A Change of Scene was the product of over a dozen musicians working for nearly 10 months. Despite having no label backing them, Auguster managed to produce their debut album solely off of crowd funding (Kickstarter), hourly food service jobs, and a few favors. All of the band members' musical styles are represented on the album, from the upbeat folk-pop of Bridges, to the symphonic rock of California Rainstorm, to the post-rock transition Interlude; there's something for everyone on this album, as it seamlessly blends the defining lines of genres across the board.
