简介
Due for release on April 18th, ‘Dream Away’, the debut single from Dublin artist Carly Coonagh, was produced by chart topping songwriter/producer SIGALA in London’s Tileyard Studio’s. SIGALA is no stranger to chart success, having recently entered the Official UK charts at number 1 with his own debut single 'Easy Love'. The last year has been a busy one for the Dublin singer-songwriter, having recently played support to The Riptide Movement in Whelans and Roisin Dubh during their recent Irish tour in December, and having played support to Wyvern Lingo at their sold out EP launch in Smock Alley. Carly also played sets at 2015's Electric Picnic, Dublin’s infamous Ruby Sessions, and appeared as support act to UK artists Jon Allen, Zaska and Monster Monster. Following on from her support to Zaska, Carly joined the band for 2 performances as a lead vocalist, performing at Crane Lane in Cork and as support to Booka Brass Band at the Cork Opera House during the Cork Jazz Festival. Carly is also backing vocalist for The Riptide Movement. She recorded with the band on their number 1 album ‘Getting Through’ and has toured with them throughout Europe performing at renowned festivals such as Benicassim, T in the Park, Eurosonic, Reeperbahn, Electric Picnic (main stage) and appeared on TV shows 'The Voice' and 'The Late Late Show'. Most recently Carly sang with the band at the 2fm Christmas ball in the 3Arena, sharing thee stage with Hozier, Gavin James and Ryan Sheridan. Growing up on Dublin’s Northside in the 90’s, Carly grew into her musical direction at a time when contemporary R&B filled the commercial music charts. Movies released at that time such as ‘The Commitments’ and ‘Sister Act 2’ cemented Carly’s love of all things blues, R&B, soul and gospel. Influenced by her musical heroes, Aretha Franklin and Whitney Housten, Carly spent years singing gospel music and finding her voice among the talented members of the Dublin Gospel Choir before stepping out as an independent solo artist. Carly's other influences include Lauryn Hill, Mariah Carey, TLC, EnVogue, Destiny’s Child, India Arie and Boys2Men. Now a long time member of The Dublin Gospel Choir, Carly has shared the stage with such luminaries as Ennio Morricone, Outkast, The Dubliners, Kodaline, Mundy, Brian Kennedy, Paddy Casey and West Life. Carly has toured extensively with the choir over the last 8 years, singing throughout the country and appearing annually for the choir's renowned 'Sunday Service' on the main stage at Electric Picnic. Due for release on 18th April 2016, Carly will play The Ruby Sessions on April 19th
