The title "Pieces" refers to the concept that I've tried to create which includes different cultures and music styles combined in one album. In other words, different parts of me. I find it much easier for the audience to understand who you actually are if you show them different styles that defines you in your debut album. That is my opinion anyways: "Listener Friendly." This song describes the way I visualize him when I think about him in my head. We were very nervous while recording it because he is a very important person for all of us and we were imagining him listening to it with his eyes closed fully focused while we were playing. RESPECT LONELINESS It is a tune that describes the productivity of your mind when you get a chance to be alone and peaceful with yourself. ESCAPE This is a song I wrote during the period where I was not listening to any music but Oscar Peterson. He is a big inspiration for me too as well as for the rest of the world. BODY AND SOUL This is a well-known standard which I preferred to sing in this album. It is a rarely known ability of mine which I usually do it while I am alone or in another country where people don't know me that well. DEEP THOUGHTS The title describes itself. It is a composition which I wrote when I was in that kind of mood where you get lost in your wavy ocean of thoughts while your eyes stare at a random direction. I FALL IN LOVE TOO EASILY The jazz standart whic has been made famous by the romantic and soul indulging trumpet player and singer Chet Baker. I might have been inspired by him if you think about the reason I sang this tune in this album. RESURRECTION I composed this piece when I was a 17 years old high school kid. I wrote it for our savior "Atatürk" thinking that he might have needed to resurrect for the sake of our country. It was a different piece when I first wrote it. It included a full choir, piano, oboe and two male singers. I used the main theme and rearranged it into this track after I graduated from my university and started my career in Poland. In this track I wanted to feature my dear friend, İsmail Altunsaray who is probably one of the best bağlama players in the world. He has done the whole intro himself, embellishing the main theme using his skillful hands and tongue including his instrument bağlama of course ANADOLU BALLAD It is a piece which I got inspired by my own culture. I never deny my own culture instead I embrace it and try to promote it whenever I can, while performing abroad. I wrote this tune to prove that people can combine different cultures and styles while maintaining the pure meaning of what they want to say. Featuring İsmail Altunsaray on bağlama and Engin Recepoğulları on soprano saxophone.
