Matthew has been involved in music since he was three years old. His father Henry Martinez taught him how to sing and at the age of three, he made his first vocal performance in Albuquerque New Mexico with Mariachi. Ever since then, Matthew has shown great interest in music. In elementary school Matthew learned how to play the trumpet and continued through High School where he also played the Baritone and Trombone. Matthew began to play the Bass guitar and keyboards and started a family band in 1989 with his father Henry Martinez Sr. and his brother Henry Martinez Jr. called Perfeccion. Perfeccion recorded their first professional album in 1991 entitled “La Mucura”. His latest solo CD Release, El Destino, has been a top seller in New Mexico Music. Matthew was once again nominated for several awards and received the awards for Male Vocalist of the Year for the fourth time. He also took home the award for Vocal Duo of the Year for El Destino.
