William Shatner - slightly too old and overweight to be a space hero, but did that stop him driving a massive space ship and getting frisky with green alien women? No. So what better role model for a bunch of experienced space-popsters? WOW SIGNALS is Shatner's third album. The first two, ENERGISE (2004) and THIRTEEN O'CLOCK (2008) were spectacularly well received by reviewers and gained the band a solid reputation, notably for the classic British guitar punk/indie/pop songwriting of ship captain Jim Bower. While ENERGISE was mainly recorded in a bedroom, THIRTEEN O'CLOCK was a far more lavish and expensive production. If that sounds pretentious don't worry, it kicks a** and it has a few jokes in it too. The album was recorded with James Kenosha, whose credits include working with Pulled Apart By Horses, Dry the River, Marmozets, Carl Barât, Mikky Ekko and Dinosaur Pile-Up.
