简介
November 29, 2011 Atlanta, GA Rustic Materials is an American band and the musical project of Bill Broadfoot. Marcha Rancho com Girassóis (Portuguese for “Marcha Rancho with Sunflowers”) is the second single by Rustic Materials. The first single by Rustic Materials, So Many Stars, rose to number 5 on Amazon.com's (US) Brazilian Jazz chart and number 6 on Amazon.com's Latin Jazz chart. The musicians on Marcha Rancho com Girassóis are: Bob Lewis - flute, flute solo; Janice Crews - oboe; Bill Broadfoot - composer, horn arrangement, baritone ukulele, mellotron and chamberlain; Rafael Pereira - percussion; and Robert “Dig” Dickson – acoustic bass. A lot of passion went into the playing on this track, and you can hear it in the musicians’ fine performances, including the imaginative flute solo by Bob Lewis. Though the song was intended to be an instrumental, as with any of Rustic Materials’ instrumentals, you are welcome to set lyrics to the melody. If you act on this invitation and would like to share your lyrical renderings with the band, please forward those lyrics to us! (As bandleader Bill Broadfoot’s musical niece, Campbell, can attest, Marcha Rancho com Girassóis did once have “mock-up” lyrics - with the first line being “I like sweet potatoes.” As an additional sidenote, the Beatles’ “Yesterday” originally had “mock-up” lyrics, i.e., “Yesterday” was originally known as “Scrambled Eggs” - with the words “scrambled eggs” situated where you can now hear the word “yesterday.”) Marcha Rancho com Girassóis was recorded and mixed by Martin Kearns of Down in Deep, at 800 East Studios in Atlanta, and mastered at Abbey Road Studios in London. It was produced by Rustic Materials, with essential assistance from Mr. Kearns. So, if you like marches, Brazilian grooves, sweet potatoes, sunflowers and/or melodic music, we know that you will like Marcha Rancho com Girassóis!
