Amy Whitcomb has been in love with music since she was three years old, begging her mom to put her in piano lessons. She hit middle school and simultaneously started developing a passion for popular music, finally writing her first song at 14, which she says she will not be sharing with the world anytime soon. ☺ Writing and singing quickly became her first true love. Amy graduated from Brigham Young University in April 2011 with a degree in Commercial Music and has since released two EPs with her rock band, The Whits, opened for Brad Paisley and David Archuleta at Freedom Festival’s Stadium of Fire 2011, has appeared on NBC’s The Sing-Off with the a cappella group Delilah, and toured internationally to both Asia and Europe. Just recently, Amy was an artist on NBC’s The Voice Season 4 – Team Adam! When she’s not traveling, performing, or recording, Amy resides in Orem, UT working as a voice teacher and freelance vocalist. Amy is a Florida native who loves her family, friends, the beach, scary movies, and goat cheese. She’s always been drawn to leopard print and rhinestones despite her tomboy tendencies, which stem from having 3 older brothers antagonize her constantly growing up. She says she had to learn to stand up for herself early on. And then later on, she learned how lucky she is to have older brothers. Amy says her life is an adventure that continually inspires her to sing, to write, and to create. She feels the most complete when she’s singing…or listening to freaking Eva Cassidy.
