'The Middle Ground' is Vacuity's first commercial release, it was released in 2004. The band held a CD release party at Fiddler's Green in Cambridge Ontario to a packed house. The band and album gained the attention of fellow Toronto indieband Pilate (now Pilot Speed) and were asked to support them on several dates around the country. 'The Middle Ground' was the spark of many opportunities for the band and really set things into motion. They performed at the 'Umbrella Music Anniversary Show' along side 'Howie Beck' and 'The Meligrove Band' at The Rivoli in Toronto, as well as opening for 'Alannah Myles' and 'Idol Sons' at the 'Canadian Musicians Magazine Anniversary' 'The Middle Ground' is entirely self-produced and was manufactured at MMS services in Toronto with much support from family and friends.
