简介
Jeremy Dyen’s third solo release Battery combines his unique style with world percussion. Jeremy is clearly an American artist, but weaves Brazilian, Indian and African percussion around his songs. While reminiscent of Paul Simon's Rhythm of the Saints, Battery stands out because of its earthiness and eclecticism. “You'll Never Be Late” will make you want to dance and sing along, with its big drumming styles of Brazil. A sweet song like “Ruby Moon” will transport you to a dreamy, night sky. Other memorable moments include “All We Have To Gain” (featuring renown Philly-soul singer Mutlu) and an impressive cover of Billy Joel's “Travelling Prayer.” Amazingly, with exception to a few percussion parts on “You’ll Never Be Late” and the guitar on “All We Have To Gain,” Jeremy performs all of the instruments on the CD. He also engineered and produced it. Jeremy Dyen is one of the most eclectic and sought after keyboard players in Philadelphia, and a true artist. Playing with the likes of John Legend, Mutlu and Zakir Hussain has certainly fueled his creative fire, from singer-songwriter to Indian fusion composer for Bharatanatyam dance. It could be said that Battery is a culmination of Jeremy’s influences and experiences.
