简介
In August of 2007 I went to Hamburg on a trip that lead me to Krisz Kreuzer and Oliver Schmitt. Krisz and Ollie are the creators of Brixtonboogie, which is Urban Blues music created by a collective of musicians. Once the musical structure is created singer/songwriters fill in the words and melodies … kind of like a collaborative audio painting. I was one of the songwriters that ended up working with them on the original Brixtonboogie project that was released in Germany in 2009. While creating the songs that made it onto this CD we wrote a few others that seemed to be more “Trina” than “Brixton”. This is how The Hamburg Sessions was born. I loved the sound that Krisz and Ollie created so much that leaving these songs on the cutting room floor was not an option. I have visited Hamburg many times over the years, creating not only the The Hamburg Sessions, but also lifelong relationships and a love for this amazing Harbor City. I found my muse for The Hamburg Sessions among the misty grey days spent wandering the canals of the Speicherstadt, my walks to the studio though the Dom (a Carnival that happens 4 times a year), and to the ominous WWII bunker that housed the recording studio. As you can tell from this story, it has taken a while to get this project to the place where it is now. Hamburg is an ocean away and all involved have had other projects running simultaneously. Some of you have already heard the Brixtonboogie material. The Hamburg Sessions is that and more. It is more Trina than the Trina you know. Enjoy the misty grey.
