When two old friends met to write in the spring of 2013 the goal was not to make an album. It wasn't even to start a band or play music. it was simply to start an honest discussion and to create a place for ideas. Unlike previous musical endeavors, there was no pressure or desire for grand production or radio created wonders. Instead armed with one microphone, an archaic computer, and a handful of instruments they just started telling stories. Stories not only about disappointment, lost hope and failures but of triumph, redemption, and beauty. The seven songs in Heaven and Earth tell this story and the walls of the attic it was recorded in reverberate all the pain and joy of this process. It sings of life's imperfections and declares its unexplainable wonder, drawing the listener into a mysterious beauty more majestic than the hills and hollows of northern Arkansas that Sam and Violet call home.
