简介
Taking its name from a Sylvia Plath short story and drawing comparisons to the likes of The Decemberists and Belle and Sebastian, this 6-piece alternative pop band from London was fully realised in the spring of 2010. It immediately set to work on developing its unique folk-tinged sound, playing frequent shows around the capital and rapidly generating a modest local following along the way. By the turn of the year, the band was entertaining vibrant crowds at prestigious London venues such as Shepherd's Bush Hall and The 100 Club, whilst comfortably supporting more established acts such as The Travelling Band and Doyle and the Fourfathers. After then embarking on a successful first mini-UK tour, the band headed into the studio to finally capture on record its forceful yet charming pop. The result is this 3-song E.P, entitled 'An Introduction to Sweetie Pie and the Gutter Men,' which provides a superb bookmark of a band that is now progressing into a genuinely exciting act. Includes live favourites ‘Love and Gin’, ‘The Puppeteer’ and ‘Forget What Did’. "American folk tradition combined with a British Indie-Pop sound" (From The Backseat) "Melancholic melodies over relentless, hard-driving grooves" (Liveunsigned.com)
