Mia Grobelny had her first release 2001 on Sub Static and her last release in 2010 (also on Sub Static). Between 2001 and 2010 she released 15 Singles and the Albums “Schwarzweiß” and “Bittersüß”, as well as remixed for Labels such as Traum, Monika Enterprise, Kitty-yo, Italic, Dumb Unit, 240 Volt, Mobilee and a few more. Mia moved from Cologne to Berlin and a few years later to the Urban Hinterland of Brandenburg where she lives now. So, there has been plenty of time between 2010 and now. What happened? Questions arose. We followed Mia on a few channels and saw new bits of music online every now and then, which mostly was intentionally deleted soon a few days later. We had no personal contact to Mia (which we had back in the days when exchanging Vinyl promos of our Label and their Sub Static Releases), so we started wondering and got back in contact. It was clear before, but when we spoke to each other it became fact, she had never stopped producing music but was tired of being in this kind of industry loop between, DJ’ing, producing and releasing music. It just didn’t feel right for her. Fortunately it didn’t take too long for us to convince her to think about out releasing her music again. And here it is, 2 of her original Tracks including a “Health Angels” Remix from Aviation Center. She sounds different from back then, that's for sure.
