This is no ordinary rapper/dj combo, with “DJ Red Handed” on the wheels of steel and emcee “Daddy Laced” on the mic, together they have managed to surpass stylistic boundaries that mainstream music normally gets snagged by. The Hood Consultants resonate musically as the sound of hip hop to come. Never utilizing distortion over the blend of the beat, all beats are produced by the group’s DJ Red Handed. The lyrics that Daddy Laced recites are rooted in the groundbreaking sounds of the 90s combined with a current sense of hybridized soul and funk. The two were brought together by a mutual friend who saw potential in their strong individual styles, Red Handed and Daddy Laced showcased without boasting.
