"When we started this band in 2012, the only thing we knew for certain was that we wanted to make music together. Just the two of us. So we set out; we wrote a handful of songs that challenged us, booked some studio time, recorded and released them under the name: Mammal Pants. We never had a proper CD release for them or anything like that, we really just wanted some songs on a disc that we could share with people. These songs still mean a great deal to us as they are a snapshot of us beginning to pursue something we love more than anything in the whole world. Sometime later, we asked our friend Noctrik if he would be willing to rework these songs to see and hear them from a different perspective. What he returned to us felt like new life breathed over old bones. These were new songs with lives & meaning all their own. Nyctophilia was born out of that time. The coming together of old and new. The first 4 tracks (Side A) are the original Mammal Pants recordings, and the final 4 (Side B) are the new Noctrik reworks. Listen to them in any order you desire, but both Sides are dynamic mirrors of one another." SIDE A: Tracks 1 - 4 written + performed by I Am Machi.
