A new solo album from Dougie Burns. Guitarist /Singer / Songwriter from Acoustic Blues Duo Bluebelly. Dougie's song "Dear John" appeared on the Jocks Juke Joint Vol2 Compilation. That album was nominated for the British Blues Awards 2013 as Best British Blues Album of The Year. Dougie is a seasoned performer who writes all his own material and plays several gigs and Blues and Music Festivals all over Scotland. With Bluebelly, Dougie has played support slots for several interesting artists such as ALBERT LEE, SEASICK STEVE, LIGHTNING WILLIE AND THE POORBOYS, MARTIN STEPHENSON, GYPSY DAVE SMITH, THE COAL PORTERS and ROD CLEMENTS. Dougie plays Guitar, Bass and Percussion and is joined here on his Album by many friends who came along to be welcome guest artists from all over the Highlands of Scotland and elsewhere in the UK. These include:- Harmonica from Stevie Smith (formerly with Salt) , Guitars from Andy Murray (formerly guitarist with Wolfstone) and his son Joshua MacKenzie, Bobby McDonald, Davy Cowan, Matt Sillars, Donald Forbes and Ranald Smith. Bass from Ross McDonald and Gil Anderson. Vocals from Ally MacLeod (Red Hook Rapids), Sarah Burns and Elizabeth Garrow , Clarinet from Mike Mackenzie (Ness River Rhythm Kings) Drums from Les Macpherson, Connor Meeks (The Purple Divide) and Archie Douglas Burns (formerly with The Exile) and added backing vocals along with others already mentioned from Dave Fleming, Sandra Nairne , Val and Stuart Campbell and Kelly Macrae. The album was produced by Les MacPherson at Nearfield Studio, Evanton, Scotland. Dougie's first solo album has a wide mix of Blues, Rock n Roll and Ballads with personal stories within the lyrics of the songs. The title track has a very infectious chorus which will definitely have you singing along !!!
