DeAnna N Wattley BIOGRAPHY On the day that she surrendered her life to God, she has given Him all that she was blessed with. The numerous talents of which she continually work to develop all, along with her youthful strength and faculties, all make up the vibrant, warm, ambitious, singing sensation, in the name of DeAnna Wattley. DeAnna began singing at the tender age of five, and has been making persistent progress ever since. Even in her earlier years, DeAnna's ability to contribute to her progress in whatever way she could, and embrace new capabilities she encounters from time to time, have helped to propel her to where she is today. Her faith in God has allowed her to walk in the direction of His leading, thus moving to much higher and greater levels. At the age of thirteen, her success in the gospel music industry began when she released her first recorded album (Now is the Time). Entries such as "I will do a new thing", "May the work I've done" and the medley, have touched the hearts of a wide cross section of people who have had the opportunity to listen. These and all of the other power filled songs on this album, speaks undoubtedly of her devotion to God, allegience to her parents, and appreciation to her church family, relatives, and supporters, as her music permeates the air. Since then, she was also successful in releasing two additional albums of which one is directed toward Christmas. DeAnna was raised along with her younger sisters, LaDonna and Britney, in a Christian home. Her parents Bernell and Daphne Wattley, who are also notable musicians, have molded her with God's help into what she has and will become. Their genuine support and encouragement had helped to prepare her in the fulfillment of her musical abilities. Becoming a Musical gem of the Caribbean, DeAnna is known for capturing her audiences whenever she is given an oppurtunity to minister. At sixteen, DeAnna has grown into a spirit-filled young lady and an ambassador for Christ. She was born on St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands, but grew up in Tortola, British Virgin Islands. She is presently a recent graduate of the B.V.I High School where she was an active member of the School's orchestra. Two of the major instruments that she has endeavored to master, include the piano and trumpet. Being a significant part of the New Life Baptist Church Choir, DeAnna is frequently relied upon to be the lead vocalist in various songs, with the addition of her strident alto voice. Her pioneering spirit and boundless optimism allowed her to master her performances, thus creating a positive influence and motivation for other young people, as they strive to do what she has successfully done. In addition to her music ministry, Deanna has also excelled in the area of Track and Field, as she has captured and maintained the title of Victrix Ludorum at the B.V.I High School annual Track and Field competition, for four consecutive years (2000-2003). DeAnna is indeed a versatile young lady, which has caused her to be esteemed as successful in whatever she does. On June 9, 2002, DeAnna received the Marlin Award for Outstanding Female Traditional Vocal Performance of the Year, which was held in Nassau Bahamas. Her musical endowment has enabled her to perform at various events, which include "Bobby Jones Gospel" (BET), St. Kitts Music Festival, and The Green Valley Gospel Fest. She appeared in concerts along with various artists, such as, The Grace Thrillers, Sandra Brookes, Carlene Davis, Shine the Light, PAPA SAN, Ron Kenoly, Mary-Mary, Vickie Winans just to name a few. The singing sensation that she has become, the successful, talented, ambitious DeAnna Wattley, is indeed a Musical gem in the world of Gospel Music. DeAnna is now a student at the Morgan State University Baltimore Maryland, USA
