The Solanum is growing to be a force to be reckoned with in Texas. Blending elements of horrorcore, rap, metal, industrial and goth styles all into his own. He has appeared on countless mixtapes and cyphers, such as the "Taking Lives" bonus cypher on the Bizarre and Fury Project, "Something Awful-Taking Lives" He has dropped one full length and a few mixtapes with the group Misfits Of The Hood. As a solo artist he has released one album independently and self-titled, featuring beats from Billboard Topping group and Psychopathic family, Axe Murder Boyz. Thommy plans to release his sophomore album, "Digging Inside Myself", which boasts features and productions from some of the most formidable underground labels such as LSP,SKR and Psychopathic. Thommy also isn't afraid to get his hands dirty in every other aspect of the music business. He produces and composes a majority of his own tracks, as well as for other local artists. He presses his own merch, books his own shows, and directs and edits his own videos. His drive and motivation for independance are a reminder of the classic 80's hardcore punk DIY attitude. At a regular Thommy Nekro show you will easily see hip-hop heads, punks, hardcore kids, metalheads, juggalos, goths, stoners, hippies, and maybe even the occasional raver or edm fan. His lyrics although predominately dark in nature, usually tell a story or contain a much deeper positive message. His delivery is highly original and sophisticated in skill, while still maintaining a controlled level of chaos and adrenaline. He tends to juggle between polysyllabic rhymes, chopping or fast-rap, screaming metal vocals, melodic singing, and catchy hooks all simultaneously.
