Writing her first song at age 12 she has since built an original repertoire of eclectic music styles with jazz, pop, rock, lounge and folk influences. Trained extensively in her working fields of opera, musical theatre, cabaret and film - in Australia and Europe - her passion for songwriting continued to grow over the years and has now come into the foreground of her career. She has performed her original music in the UK, Germany, France and South Africa, where her music and voice were very well received. Her music has been likened to Frente, Tori Amos, Missy Higgins, Joni Mitchell and Kate Bush. Michaela and her band launched her debut album BREATHE during the Adelaide Fringe Festival 2012. They won the Techie Award at the Global Battle of the Bands 2011 and also performed at the 2012 FUSE Festival. While performing Michaela plays: cello, piano, ukulele or guitar as a solo artist or with any combination of her band; lead guitar, bass, drums, keyboard and violin. Depending on venue requirements they are flexible with the number of band members. At 4 foot 11 inches audiences are never quite prepared for the powerful voice that comes from Michaela’s tiny frame.
