The jazz festival of Antibes in France is still one of the most prestigious jazz festivals in the world. The first concert took place in 1960 on the open-air stage of the famous French seaside resort. For the fourth edition in 1963 artists from all over the world met again, from Scandinavia, Poland, Germany, Africa, of course from France, and also American jazz legends like Miles Davis and Sarah Vaughan came to the audience to present large extent and diversified programmes with jazz of many different styles: From classic New Orleans style to Modern Jazz and Bebop. All concerts were recorded and broadcast on the radio. In the estate of the renowned jazz researcher Dietrich Schukz-Köhn ("Dr. Jazz") a copy of the final concert that took place on July 31, 1963 was located. All artists appeared again with one or two numbers from their previous shows and thus presented a great musical cross-section from the colorful world of jazz. This concert has been carefully audio restored and remastered in 24 Bit HD. Enjoy!
