A native of Daleville, Indiana, James was born with a fire and passion for music, and a determination that could not easily be derailed. He began writing songs after graduating from Ball State University. In 2009, Whiskey Kisses was created in a basement of a century old row home just outside Philadelphia. It was here that James began wrestling with the concept of his ability to love or be loved. "Basements are lovely for this kind of steep discovery." Inspired by everything from Jeff Buckley and Tom Waits to Morrissey, James finds himself constantly influenced by the music of the '50s & '60s that filled his childhood home in Indiana. Always honest with himself at any given time about who he is and who he is not. James brings this raw awareness and honesty into his craft. A singer-songwriter for the ages.
