Giving honor and glory to God, Aaron Lamb aka MC Charlie K offers his life to Christ and a sincere word of faith to the world. Coming from Philadelphia, PA, Charlie K has adopted and adapted that “good feel” music that we find so exclusive nowadays. Likely the first hip-hop artist to successfully bridge the genre gap, he employs the lyrical dexterity he has been blessed with to bring a bit of eternal soul to the secular. CK uses verse as a vehicle to step outside of the sanctuary and into the streets, where the word is often consumed by ambient noise and the amplitude of inferior messages disguised by awesome packaging. Instead of focusing on bringing people to church, he brings the church to the people with an ear for the boom-bap and an emotional vulnerability derived from an intimate narrative of rebirth and revolution in HIM. His ministry is an exercise in leading the fallen to faith by example - a conscious decision that has allowed him to redefine and refine his own walk in Christ according to a willingness to bend to the gospel by illustrating the peaks and valleys of his own life. CK - former frontman of acclaimed Philly-based rap group Writtenhouse - made a decision to answer the call on his life in 2013. After headlining shows across the eastern seaboard and opening for acts like Nas, Snoop Lion, De La Soul, Wu-Tang Clan, Mobb Deep and others, CK became increasingly indebted to the idea of a more perfect union between the music that fills the streets and the word that fills his heart. Facing criticism and moving with little support from skeptics who openly doubt such a feat could ever be accomplished to any degree of success, CK takes on a mantle few have been brave or innovative enough to carry. He takes the mic in memory of his deceased parents Carl and Doretha Lamb and with the support of his wife Natasha and their young son Nasir. With the world on his shoulders and a mountain of legacy beneath his feet, CK preps his forthcoming LP #LIGHTUPTHEDARK for release on ITunes on June 1st, 2015 and many other independent release outlets. This is an LP that will change the tongues and perceptions of those who feel too cool to worship aloud. CK is tearing down walls and forging a path to the cross that is easier to traverse than the road so many dismiss as one paved with overwhelming judgment or a lack of validity.
