简介
Feed is a rock band from Seattle, WA. How hefty of a sonic assault can be mounted by a standard three piece-rock group? Feed aim to find out. Fuzz pedals are set to melted, phasers are wide and slimey, and you better believe those amps are cookin’! There’s something to be said for subtlety, no doubt. But sometimes subtleties turn to missed opportunities. One thing’s for sure, the boys in Feed take every opportunity they can muster to push the dynamics of the rock-trio format as far as they will go. Before Feed, Matt, Pat, & Chase had each been involved the Seattle music community. Pat Schowe played drums in the celebrated psych-rock six-piece Rose Windows, putting out two records on Sub Pop. Matt Kolhede and Chase Hoyt both wrote songs and played guitar in UBU ROI, a local butt-rock/punk four-piece that blossomed out of the beloved University District house show venue 5010. Matt also co-founded Seattle/NYC independent label Help Yourself Records, which has put out records from Seattle heavyweights like Chastity Belt, Dude York, Wimps and Childbirth. Those previous bands provided the boys in Feed with many memorable experiences - experiences which certainly illustrate what makes the Seattle music scene so special - but they’re over now, which is how and why Feed was formed in late 2016. The group sprang out of the simple desire among the three to get back to playing loud, dynamic and expansive rock music. It’s safe to say there's a newfound freedom, and efficiency, that the boys enjoy with fewer band members. More space, more immediacy, fewer hindrances, and fewer options. Now, after about a year of playing and crafting a sound that’s equal parts sludgy and , Feed has a freshly forged ripper of a debut due out on Help Yourself on November 16, 2017. It’s 9 songs the band wrote, recorded, and mixed themselves on a Tascam 8-track cassette machine in their Georgetown practice space. There may be only three of them, but they still manage to fill up all 8 tracks of the tape with a piping hot lava-lamp mix of rock n roll sampler- the perfect soundtrack if you’re sick of this demented reality and you’d rather be floating in space.
