Amapola is mystery, passion and vaudeville. Music from the planetary suburbs - About love and disappointments. Of mixed races by nature, Amapola Dry music drinks from the corners of the world to create its own and personal folk, a merge of different tendencies and cultures. Tango is the link that strings together music coming from far-off, remote places, such as East and the Mediterranean, to finally lead to CorrientesStreet,witnessof every urban tradition coming from the city of Buenos Aires. The project’s singular personality, where the voices tell and relate stories, is finally given in the context of songs and the support of electronic instrumentation. Live on the stage, Amapola Dry embodies a mysterious, sensual staging. A very heady, pleasant atmosphere is created by the machines and guitars, along with the voices and the sound of bandoneón. It’s a journey through several and different emotions and states of mind. Amapola Dry is a musical project that starts in the middle of 2009, motivated by the need to translate a personal vision of music. Our personal and professional background gave us the opportunity to discover and interact with several cultures and musical styles, feeding our tendency to merge and mix: styles, instruments, colors. The link thread in Ampola's music is tango, revealed in the lyrics, the melodies and the instrumentation, but picking elements from pop, jazz and world music, a common input of global culture. We use traditional instruments (bandoneon, guitar, piano), but also articulating along with electronic sounds, using from this "new" palette those nearest on feeling and deepness. You can find influences from Down-Tempo and Trip- Hop, but also the Asian-Underground feeling or Break-Beat accents. The Amapola's live show includes a portion of pre-produced images that are projected during the concert, which is commonly known as "visual", which are complemented by real-time generated images, by programming, creating an elaborated climax for the songs.
