Adrian Carr distills the emotionally charged moments and places of his life to form another unique collection of solo piano pieces called "finding charlotte." This is his first album since moving from of New York City. Adrian’s style has developed since his "Days of the Year" (2004) with fresh musical textures and vivid stories showcased by his virtuosic piano style. Within the garden of imagination [1] and beyond the veil [12] are positive and up-tempo pieces with technical, intense piano performances. Amid dreams of the road [10] flows into at the heart of the bicycle song [11] which Adrian wrote on his bike trek from Montreal to New York City in 2006. Introspective pieces include among dandelions and ghosts [4] which was inspired after visiting the abandoned Central Train Station in Buffalo, NY. Other introspective pieces include in this moment 2 [5], from ashes to ashes [6], and between the empty spaces [13]. Carr’s music is a blending of the passion of classical influences like Chopin with the accessible musical language of contemporary pianists like George Winston and Keith Jarrett. Carr’s use of song form reveals his rock roots and influences like Leonard Cohen, Coldplay and Tori Amos. Pianist/Composer, Storyteller, Grammy Nominee, he is a graduate of The Juilliard School and Princeton University and made his solo piano Lincoln Center Debut in 1988. He has played from coffee houses to his Carnegie Hall Concert in 2004.
