简介
Mark Mummert is Cantor at Trinity Lutheran Church in Worcester, MA, USA, where he conducts the Trinity Choir, the Trinity Choristers, leads the assembly song at all liturgies of the congregation, and is Artistic Director of the Music at Trinity series. He was 2015 Distinguished Visiting Cantor at the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg when he recorded this album October 26-27, 2015 on the Chapel of the Abiding Presence's Andover Organs (Opus 84 and 110). Mark was also DIrector of Worship at Houston's Christ the King Lutheran Church (2008-2015) and Seminary Musician at the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia (1990-2008). This album features organ music based on hymntunes from the German Reformation, reformed as chorale preludes or sonata forms by J. S. Bach, Felix Mendelssohn, Hugo DIstler, and Andrew Clarke. This recording is meant to accompany the spirit of the commemoration of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation begun in 1517 with Luther's 95 Theses. The hymnody resulting from that movement of the church has forever changed the music-making in our world ever since. Album produced by Keith Weber. Engineered by Ryan Edwards and Shannon Smith. Recorded at Gettysburg, PA, October 26-27, 2015. "Partita on Ein Feste Burg" Copyright 1991 by Birnamwood Publications (ASCAP), a division of MorningStar Music Publishers, Inc., St. Louis, MO.
