Israfels "Aloft" is an album of tightly interlocking melodic indie-rock songs. Steeped in the colors and textures of the Northwest while muddying their fingers in each members musical tastes. Their lyrics draw on visual metaphors of nature, human conflict and emotion and sometimes dabble in between. The bulk of "Aloft" was recorded at Two Sticks Audio (Seattle,WA), with engineer Don Gunn at the helm, they found inventive ways to record instrument and vocal tracks. After their days at Two Sticks Audio they moved to Don Gunns Studio, "The Office" to finish up recordings and mix. "Aloft" was self-released in September 2009, and is a collection of songs that capture their thoughts, feelings and experiences over the last several years.
