As it is with many journeys, you can unexpectedly end up in a much better place than you set out for. Such is the story of "Inside Out" the third and newest release from the talented Portland Oregon based trio Ellen, Gene and Jean. With a robust mix of iconic classics from Curtis Mayfied, Van Morrison and John Hiatt to some inspired and fresh original songs, "Inside Out" can best be described as "Americana Soul."

"We did not expect some of the side trips, detours and restarts" Ellen explains. "Every emotion was invited to this party. "Inside Out" is an apt description of the process we went through and we could not be happier with the results."

Ellen, Gene and Jean features singer, songwriter and guitarist Ellen Whyte, Gene Houck (bass and vocals) and Jean-Pierre Garau (piano, keyboards and vocals). Some highlights of "Inside Out" include a soulful and signature performance of the classic "Georgia On My Mind" by Gene Houck, a new sweeping and pastoral instrument original from Jean-Pierre Garau showing his keyboard virtuosity and compositional originality and Ellen Whyte's beautiful and expressive treatment on John Hiatt's bayou inspired, "Feels Like Rain."
