简介

Jacob Winters (1986- ) is an up-and-coming rock musician from Fort Wayne, IN. He is currently performing with the Professionals and is unsigned. Jacob Winters was born in 1986 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. While in high school, he developed his music and faith in his church's youth group. In 2004, Winters was accepted at Purdue University. Much of his work from this period, including "Party Nights" and "Rain Keeps Fallin'" focuses on the loss of youthful hope, the dominate theme of his music. After completing a minor's coursework in Spanish language, Winters left university to focus more on a career in music. His first paid performances were in the summer of 2006, of which he earned only $50 per show. He began to play more regularly at Purdue in West Lafayette, Indiana and Fort Wayne, Indiana, drawing a small crowd to each venue he played. His first album, Born and Raised in South Aboite, was recorded, mixed, and mastered by two-time Grammy nominee Jeff Anderson at Sound Logic, LLC. It was released on May 2, 2007 and was available on iTunes later that month. His first album has been described as a demonstration of his songwriting, which is not limited to the acoustic genre. The album is eclectic in style, with some songs sporting a fast-paced feel, and others similar in style to Howie Day, John Mayer, and Jason Mraz. In September 2007 Winters released "Waxing Moon: The Free P" which is the final version of Waxing Moon, available for purchase live. A free download of the song is available at myspace.com/jacobwinters. In late 2007, Derek Cox joined in with recording a new, full length album to be released in October 2008. It will be under a new band name, Like Science. A new, untitled album is currently scheduled to be released in October 2008 under the new band name Like Science.
