Uniques Shattered Dreamz is a bangin album for the most all. I collabrating with some special artists Heavenly Earth Asia, Black Dutch, General Jazz, Bless (Ish), Samira, jitta bug, Sharp , Sharoic locksmif “Uniques Spoken Words” Brand New Album Uniques Shattered Dreamz! This Album is basically about dreamz that we all have. Some of us accomplish them, some of us are still reaching to fulfill them dreamz. From the beginning of 1997 to 2002, I was running with the Wu Tang Clan on the road, in the Studio, Rocking Shows, Videos, and Much More. I used to live in Beverly Hills, L.A. I did some side work with American All-stars, Converses, and CK1. So I was living my life starting to begin to introduce the world to "Unique as Ra Da Sunlord". In 2003, I got into a Car Accident in West Virginia. At that time it left me paralyzed from the Neck Down. From that moment I thought my life was over. ''This is it! What Am I Good For Now". This is what I’m saying to myself while I was laying there in the Hospital Bed. From that point, I thought all my dreams that I worked hard for, and skills, and trades, and martial arts ability that I learnt, I felt that I lost. That’s when I needed to get my mind together. By talking to people that knew me best that was close to me other then family, told me I need to keep doing this music thing. That’s when I met you and knew you best at, Which had me thinking Yea Right .But I knew if I was going to do it again I was going to hit them with some ill Boogie B-Boy POP/SOUL/HIP-HOP/R&B style, The best way that I figure to steal this music world back. And that’s when I started working on “Uniques Shattered Dreamz”, Which is my Real Life brought to music, and that’s the best way I figure I can share my story. So I grabbed up a few Unique artists to bring out the right sound that I wanted. I grabbed up Heavenly Earth Asia, which is Secret Societies 1st lady and also my sister, to spit some words on how she seen life and how it was rolling with Unique, seeing her brother make moves. She wasn’t on the mic back then, but that doesn’t mean her mind wasn’t right back then, and with rhymes that tight showed she wrote back then. So this is the first time you are really going to hear Asia get loose, plus she’s been through a lot through the years. Like we all go through our ups and downs, thick and thins, or however you want to word it. I had a lot of beats that I had made throughout the years while working on different projects that I had went through and listened to many of times, hour by hour, trying to select the music I had that I wanted to work on for this album. I also reached out to a couple other producers, and they handed me plenty of beats to listen to. I used 1 or 2 of them, the most I have done, but mostly wrote to some of the rest of them, and started formatting them into songs to my beats. I used most of my beats because I wanted to get that sound out there around this time. Plus, a lot of new artist and music that was out on the radio, me and I’m sure a lot of other artists weren’t feeling. I grabbed up a friend of mine I grew up with in the past, and we also worked on music prior to this album. He goes by the name “Serenaide” (stage name), his rap and what we use to call him around the hood is Black Dutch on these songs: Paradise, What You Know About, Stand Up. And I can honestly say, he came and did a wonderful job. I mainly kept close to people I grew up with and through thick and thin, I was somewhat only cool with those who knew about my situation, and was there to help support me on my destiny. Songs like “At the Show, N da City, and S&D (smoking and drinking)”, I wanted to give the listener the actual feeling on what we really go through in the city or at a live concert, down to smoking and drinking. All of these things that we talk about and a lot of words that’s not even mentioned are based on real life facts and what we are really going through to make it from the bottom up. “Ra Da Sunlord”, I have specifically done 9 solo tracks on this album because I consider my style unknown. So, yes I play my position in songs with other artist, but I also got to keep it sharp solo on the side to hit y’all off guard, but keep the listeners shocked on the words that I say in my lyric delivery. It’s like, “sun splash autograph spit a rhyme and flash, jump in whips ran by bio oil we don’t pay for gas”, like that right there, it rhymes, it makes sense when you think about the changes they are trying to make relying on natural resources, then relying on oil that millions of people got killed over. So, as a rapper, I will word my rhymes in ways where you have to think out the box just to put the picture together to see where I’m going. I did a song called “What’s Love?” because there’s no love without hate, there’s no peace without war. With that being said, sometimes you got to ask yourself, “What’s Love?” Is it more than a feeling, an action? Some people say they love you and don’t even mean it. So what is the true definition of Love? So, in that song I basically broke down many different aspects of love to even asking God “What’s Love?’ to saying to a physical female “Do you love me girl?” Then when I’m mad at her I feel like I want to break something so then I’m stuck again asking myself “What is love?” I know what love is, it’s your family, and it’s the seen, the unseen, the spiritual universe, the holy temple within yourself, things that are so little that mean a lot. Love is an emotion that we all will feel and go through. Now “Lost of Love”, that’s another joint on the album. That song is straight hood. It talks about things that you go through with your girl, friend, wife, friends with benefits, etc. Sometimes you be thinking you love somebody until they aren’t there no more. Then you got to ask yourself, ”Is it that person that I lost? Is that the love that I lost? Or was it the things the person I love was doing for me that made me feel lost?” I mean I spit them lyrics dealing on mad different bases, because every body’s situations aren’t going to be the same. So what I did was take like 10 different episodes of situations that people go through in their relationships and bundled it up as a nice little package to give you knowledge on what you got and not underestimating the gift that you got. I know I came off a little hard but if I didn’t that’ll be fake in life. And you see at the end of the song I mentioned that “I’m done running around, sleeping around, I’m focused, got my head together, I’m ready to go back home right now. You are the only one I need in my life, Lost of Love” I can honestly say I had fun with that one. “Live from the Streets”, I did that one for the streets, how I was moving on the streets and also letting you know everywhere I went it was live. So with that beat, I featured “Sharp” on the song, through him the track, gave him my running idea with the song. And as a listener, you see we both did our thing, kept it live but also for the streets. I also featured “Mac Dee” to help me out with the background vocals on the hook. A couple friends that I even use to run with and actually done music with was a little mad when they heard the song, I guess because I didn’t put them on the song. Because they would say “Man you know I was with you back then, riding in the van with you, rolling with you back then. Why didn’t you feature me on the song?” I started off with an “Intro”, me speaking real talk to these so called want to be artist but aren’t doing nothing about it. As far as making the music, writing the music, putting all your ducks in a row, meaning songs, down to dragging their butt on working on the album art, getting to the studio on time, and making it happen. It’s a lot of talk for people that aren’t ready to take that long walk. So in a nutshell, that’s what the intro is all about. “Be It All” is a real inspirational song because growing up everyone has their dreams and their goals to try and make their destiny come to life. And growing up, you want to be it all, meaning the best doctor, the best lawyer, the best judge, even president. All you have to do in life is be patient and you will be it all, meaning your dreams will start to come to life. If you want to be with your God, because, there are many worlds. You die and be born, which is all of life’s design. One moment, God can send you on this earth to be here for four hundred years or more. Then you can be sent here to be here for 1 second, then, take you away. So if you want to be with Allah/God, one moment and you will see it all, meaning Gods designs. “Its gots to be there”, this song is rapped around on everything, having its own place, everything being there, from being on the road state to state to do shows, my fans gots to be there. If I’m putting on a show, that means whoever brought me there, my money gots to be there, even just talking to the crowd of people building with equality of knowledge, its gots to be there. And people show us love in town and on the radio, its gots to be there. That was a song I had to slice together and carve the pieces to make the puzzle of the song sound unique. “Lose It”, I know Talib Kweli had done a song to the same track, but I also been feeling him growing up as a great inspiring artist. So what I did was take little situations brothers take for granted, by having a good shorty/queen holding them down but they are not acknowledging or acting like they care for the little things that a woman may do for you. When you are down and out, how good they make you feel when no one else is there. So when you have someone good in your life, you must cherish them. Try to over look the flaws and focus more on what y’all have built together and gained through the time. If you recognize the signs of being in a real committed relationship, then act on it before you lose it. “Point em off” is pointing off the trouble maker, pointing off the analog fake people. Point em off, because when you are great, they hate. So I kept that straight hood with the lyrics. I had to pull out the ninjas to help hold me down on the chorus to let you know it can get serious. In my verses, I’m talking about a little bit of my life, things that I have seen, and been through. In the second verse, this brother was hating because we done a song together, but the fans was feeling my verse over his, even in the studio where we worked on the song at, brothers was feeling my verse. So what had taken place is that he had shot me and left me in the lobby bleeding and I still had a concert I had to do later on the night. So the second verse touch bases on how I get that dude back though some real cats and hard raps that made his life collapse while the crowd clapped. And Point Em Off! “Explosive lyrics”, I had to pull up some real official suburb life living lyric writing through hard life artists to help me out with this one. I featured “Jitta Bug” and “Heavenly Earth Asia” to spit some views without having you confused. We basically had fun putting this together. Explosive was the angle that we were aiming at as far as the lyrics. They are right there keeping your attention with every open line that comes out our mouth. “War wit Us” speaks for itself. If you think stuff is sweet, by the time you think you are getting away, it just got dirtier for you. If you are trying to bite our rhymes, still our beat patterns, now, not only did you not get anything, war with us, we’ll mess around and take everything. I featured “Heavenly Earth Asia” and “Sharoic Locksmif” on this track to help come at the listeners at an angle of a triangle, which are three sides. And that’s what we gave y’all, three verses, which are three different angles that form the triangle. I like that one a lot. I mean it’s a hit banger all day long. “Someone’s at the door” is something that you will always hear someone commonly say or you may hear often, when someone’s knocking at the door, to go get the door, to someone’s at the door. So I wanted to take something that people say a lot and turn it into a little hook jingle. And in between I was spitting darts on who that? where they at?, to let them in, to let them say hi to my little friend. I wrote the rhymes not based on the door, not even based on the chorus, but all around what I was doing in life at that time, from being at the bottom trying to climb your way to the top. By charging your mind with the digital sound, but then that’s another song I had put together to make it unique. But my style for that song is considered unknown. “ButterflySword”, I featured Sharp, which is a unique artist I should say, and the idea for the song came from me growing up, always watching karate flicks and kung-fu flicks. Plus I was in martial arts training at the time, which taught me a lot of discipline and how to stay focused. Even though you know how to fight doesn’t mean that you go around beating up everybody. That’s where the discipline comes in at and there is a place and time for the art to present itself, you will know. Sharp and I in this song was basically rapping on different aspects of these demands and negative energy that impact our lives every day. So from a writers angle you can hear that we’re rapping about things we been through, we’re we are trying to get to. Life itself is a fight. That’s why I put the kung-fu sound effects in the back ground of the lyrics to make you feel it, each impact, punch, and with the lyrics that so heavy they will crush every bone in your body. Butterflysword was the name I gave that one because the way we flow to me, resemblance to me, a butterfly fighting the winds to stay on path. The song “Get Off Me”, the general idea of this song is meaning after a lot of people see you working hard on projects but they don’t try to lend a hand because to them your dreams or destiny/goal isn’t going to happen. So from the Get Off me state, in a nutshell saying, y’all see me put my work in, spent money to get all my things in life in order, now that you see me doing some things you are looking at me from the outside hungry acting like you help me build this together. With that being said, I’m smacking down hands just trying to reach up for help. The words in my lyrics, they speak for themselves, which was actually a real event that took place in my life, things that I have done, saw, and putting into a real life perspective, which is music. Which, for many years a lot of artist express their feelings through music, book, or other resources. For the chorus, it speaks for itself also. I put a lot of work into this album. For me being my worst critic, I got to say anyway I was going to deliver it, it would’ve turned out as a piece of art. And for the listeners, it will give you something new to chime along with, shaking your a**, bobbing your head, whatever floats your boat. This album is for you. Throughout the whole album, my vision was to have a hit banger after a hit banger. I didn’t really want to waist the time on any slow songs. I figured club, soul, pop, r&b, and sometimes just highway music, an album you can just play and listen to while you’re driving on the highway. If you are sick of my line up, put the cd on random and it is still going to come out a classic album for the fans/listeners. In certain songs, I used females to correspond back to me in my lyrics so the listener can have a visual of what I’m talking about. That’s why I like to use a lot of sound effects to make it seem like your actually there or feeling it. And I mean, in these times and days some artist use them, some artist don’t. “Y’all Should’ve Listened”, when I was listening to the beat that this producer through me, I got that vibe that I was at a rock and roll concert. That was the energy that gave me the idea for the chorus, of people having fun, then that fun turned into breaking and brawling from everybody, women and men, and throughout all of the action that’s carrying on. By not paying attention, you lost the idea or what the song was about because the ingredients was mixed in the lyrics. While you are still stuck off the beat and the hook, it’s definitely one of the songs that will have you rewind it back, plus the energy that the song have’s you in make’s you want more. “What you Know about?” “What You Know About?” “What You Know About?” That song is asking you that question. “What you know about how hard it is to struggle for what you want out of life?” I snatched up “Jitta Bug” and “Heavenly Earth Asia” to spit some views and asking you the same question. So I made that beat in 2000 and the lyrics I spit to that beat, I wrote when I was locked up. Just to show how you can take something old and still turn it into something new takes a creative thing for a person to do. We all did our thing, spit our darts sharp on that track. We had a lot of fun with it. “S&D” is short for “Smoking and Drinking”, which everybody does socially, occasionally, or frequently. This song is for that type of crowd. Even I love Smoking and Drinking, not all the time, because I have to stay open minded, so I can look or act normal. If I were to do it all day, you will catch me in a whole nother zone. All I need is a notebook and a pen, and I will come out with the best plan since God made man. And this song is keeping it real about the everyday living, the everyday stress. Sometimes, at the end of your day, you will want to smoke or drink something. I had a wonderful chance to work with an artist, “Samira”. I featured her on this track for “Shattered Dreamz”. I gave her the chorus, which I wrote, we ran through it a couple times. By the time we were ready to lay it down, I can honestly say, she did her thing. I told her the main idea and where we was going with it, so the listener can feel where we coming from. “@ da show”, that’s a real inspirational, energetic, lyrical, club, on the block, in the studio, wherever you at type of song. Everybody that heard it after we had done it was loving it. I made the beat, the whole concept and layout was my idea from who spit first to who went last. I featured “Mac Dee”, “Black Dutch”, “Sharp”, “Asia”, and “Ish”. And we recorded the song the way we would have if we were performing live, to give you that live at the concert feeling. If you haven’t ever been to a concert, you have now after you have heard this song. And everybody’s rhymes fell in place in a good music sounding and beat pounding. “@ da show” would be the right sound to go around. “Paradise” was a song that my brother had been working on, but he came to me and we talked over the song. He said I could have 16 bars to add to it, plus at that particular time I was paying for the studio time, therefore we sort of worked it out to where if I can spit my lyrics then it’s a go. My part was the third verse, which I know I did my thing and so did “Mac Dee” and my brother “Ish”. “Black Dutch” did the hook and it’s definitely a banger for the clubs, the radios, the females, and males, universal baby. You just have to hear it yourself… “Ra Da Sunlord Speaks On Buda Monk Mind Control” is a technique that is practiced through many martial arts men or those who are in some type of physical, mental, and spiritual parts of training, which most teaches you discipline and how to live a healthy, successful, and an adjustable life. What I mean about adjustable is being universal, able to adapt to the changes and surprises that life brings. “Real Rap Skit” is speaking on real life to put away the guns. A gun isn’t always the answer to your problems. Sometimes, pick up a book or pray. When you are in an argument to learn how to walk away, not lead into the negative vibes that could send you to jail. And it also talks about having respect for other people. Acknowledge and take care of your responsibilities, and learn how to live in unity and also have a humble heart and be at peace with yourself. Never let no one take you out your circle of being focused and comfortable on your destiny. “Stand up” I featured “Black Dutch” and “General Jazz”. The main idea of this song is going out having fun, pulling the people that don’t like to party into the party, by pulling your mans up. Then I tell you in the chorus that we making moves because the clans up. “Black Dutch” started off as a live wire. “General Jazz”, he holds down the middle, while “Ra Da Sunlord” verse is the straw that breaks the camels back with a unique finish and an ill flow to the beat. We performed this like we were in front of a live audience. The beat pounding, that’s what’s going to have y’all head knocking through the whole song. Just like this song, it was a Ra Da Sunlord Production; most of 85% of the album was produced by Unique as Ra Da Sunlord. “N Da City” was a song that I produced and wrote the chorus and idea. “N Da City” means no particular city. “N Da City” is for all cities, small cities and big cities. When secret society comes through to do our thing on the mic, we are coming to do it in your city. And with that song, I wanted it to sound like we were actually on the road, in different cities. That’s where all the city sound effects play there position. To give you that real life feeling of standing on the corner in the city, city noise in the background, cars passing while you are listening to your iPad, mp3, iPod, etc. I featured “Heavenly Earth Asia” and “Ish” on this track, and I mean we all were like on the same level as far as the idea of the song. This is a real special song, just like all the other songs throughout the album, I felt like I gave you a little bit of a description of each song, so when you listen it, see it, or hear it come up, by reading this before or while listening to the cd. It will give you a better understanding of what was on “Ra Da Sunlords” mind while working on this project, song for song, break down by break down.
