Rap Duo, Porsha and Mercedes are biological sisters from Long Island, New York who formed a Hip-Hop group three years ago because they felt they could bring the Hip Hop community something new. According to Yo Raps Magazine "making music about female empowerment and sensual topics, Porsha and Mercedes will be greater than a gimmick to sell songs." Porsha & Mercedes pride themselves in staying true to who they are. Their songs range from heartbreaks, to living in America, to just being fun and goofy. Their style landed them an Underground Music Award nomination for "Most Original rap group." These sisters are currently sharing their unique talents with fans all across New York City stages. Porsha and Mercedes were born in Queens, but raised in Long Island New York. Before realizing their talent for lyricism and flow Porsha was heading to Law School and Mercedes had dreams of Medical School, until three years ago when Porsha called Mercedes and stated "Let's start a rap group.” This proved to be the right choice after their first song "In Love With Me" gained over one million views on YouTube. Spate Magazine states Porsha and Mercedes “have what it takes to be successful in the game. Beauty is not the only thing that they have in their favor, they actually have some talent on the mic.”
