This album was a J7 studios production which was the final hip hop project completed before the innovative collective was shut down prematurely as a result of the tragic ghost ship warehouse fire. As the only female hip hop artist in a small coast side community, I sought out to represent woman and all disenfranchised groups that feel silenced and oppressed. I developed a name for myself as a battle rapper in Oakland and San Francisco, and continued to develop and hone my skills as a lyricist and musician in my bay area community. Being a biracial, bisexual, female rapper in a male dominated culture, I was met with adversity and doubt as I continued to prove my worth as a rapper and earn respect as an artist. I chose to tell my story through the lens of a single mother suffering from trauma, anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation, in an attempt to connect to others and transcend barriers of race, gender, and sexual orientation. I am inspired by comic books, art, books, movies, music, heroes, villains, religion, evil, and lust as I attempt to understand and accept the meaning of my existence and my place in this world.
