简介

“Human happiness does not stand still in one place” Erodoto is maybe considered the first “reporter” in history; a reporter of the ancient world, due to his curiosity in trying to understand the civilized world and the world of which very little was known, considered “barbarian”. This curiosity induce him to travel and to see with his own eyes what was going on in the world. His stories, his war chronicles passed down through the centuries, all the way to ourselves, together with the curiosity of the people he met during his journey. We wanted him to be a source of inspiration to the stories we wanted to tell, the journeys, the meetings, compared by music. Jazz is a weft interwoven by a warp made of Mediterranean Myths, Middle East and Sicily, finding new protagonists in “travellers” crossing the Mediterranean in our days, witnesses of the endless “saga” of migration. We use classic instruments and traditional as well as Ney, udu, daf, Congas, etc. thus creating a wide plethora sound that recalls the various atmospheres of the countries bordering the Mediterranean. The compositions are all originals except for Amara my land, ancient song of the Southern Italian tradition, which speaks of postwar Italian migration, brought to success by Domenico Modugno. We think it is fair to say that the peoples of the Mediterranean, have always come and gone in the migration journeys Bob Salmieri: Tenor and soprano sax, ney, klarinet Alessandro de Angelis: Grandpiano, Rhodes piano Giampaolo Scatozza: Drums Ermanno Dodaro: Doublebass Guests: Gabriel Oscar Rosati: Trumpet Carlo Colombo: Percussions
